The use of style sheets has been implemented for many years already. However, its importance and use seemed to be set aside by many non-pro and professional web designers and developers, since there were only very few implementations. Some web authors tend to resort to Netscape's extensions instead of style sheets, due to their anxious need to sustain creativity in their web pages. Now, many browsers are now using style sheets because they are now exposed to the cool and helpful features brought by CSS.
Compared to the tedious application of Netscape's format attributes, CSS is easier to use and apply in one's web designing tasks. With the use of style sheets, web designers only need to specify presentational preference once. Take note that the style you apply goes to the entire site. In adjusting a site's width, a web designer only have to change preference in a single place, if he is using CSS. Such feature is superb, since you do not need to browse through the thousands of pages just to adjust the HTML.
Going over to the credit in line with quality presentation, CSS is way too flexible in such tasks, as well as in applying cool web effects. Web designers can apply background, border, margin, color, and background in one element. CSS is also very flexible in applying styles to all level two headings, emphasized texts, and paragraphs. With these advanced features, CSS truly represents a big step forward in advanced web designing.

The problem with most web design published materials these days is they concentrate on a single piece of software or technology. As such, web designers are having a hard time figuring out how to put all the info together. Thanks to Craig Grannell's book titled "Web Designer's Reference", scattered ideas and infos are no longer a problem for web designers and developers. The book is notably different from other web designing materials available today.

Web Designer's Reference book features a superb integrated approach in web designing. The book's chapters covers detailed aspects of web page development, including crafting CSS layouts, incorporating images, typography, and developing navigation. It also provide readers with a number of practical examples that can further help web developers with their understanding of each web design topics. It is known as a highly integrated and modular approach because readers will be learning more about technologies in context, as well as applying what they learned from each chapter.

The internet is now regarded as a prime platform for marketing and advertising the services and products of competitive business establishments. With this, web developers and designers are integrating good interactive features, accessible functions, and visually entertaining schemes on the pages of the internet sites they design. But most of these people actually tend to overlook the importance of functional white space. This portion could either win you a ton of hits, or make you lose an equal amount of traffic.
Saturday, May 5. 2007
White spaces are those blank portions on the pages of an internet site. These are usually left on each pages so as to improve the readability of the textual contents on the page. Cluttering the pages of your internet site with unnecessary contents would leave it virtually unreadable. Thus, carefully planning the white spacing features of each page of your internet site would make it more usable and visually appealing. This is because a shitload of text, buttons, links, advertisements, and digital images would make your internet site's viewers think that the site they have just navigated to is too complicated for them, or too damn dizzying!
Friday, May 4. 2007
White spaces could very well define the readability of any page on your internet site. The proper use of these spaces would improve the visual appeal of each page on your internet site. This is because it would look rather more professional to most internet surfers. Improper integration of these white spaces would do otherwise. Too little functional white spacing would make it look dizzying and unreadable. On the otherhand, too much of those white spaces on the pages of your internet site would make it look boring, and would even make internet surfers think that it is lacking the information and functions they need.

From the time good interactive features have made its way on the pages of internet sites, including textual contact information within it began to wane. The web developers and designers of the world began to think less of adding contact information within the pages of internet sites. This is because the interactivity of most internet sites nowadays allowed its viewers to give his own information to the web publisher. Wrong move, guys, totally out of whack!
Wednesday, May 2. 2007
Adding textual contact information of the web publisher, be it a company or a person, on each page of your internet site improves its usability. This is because most of today's internet surfers think highly of a company if it has textual contact information that is relatively easy to use and understand. Doing this would even promote good communication systems between the web publisher and the site's viewers.
Tuesday, May 1. 2007
If you want to improve your company's credibility, you should include textual contact information within each page of your internet site. By textual contact information, I mean company or individual names, phone numbers, fax numbers, and electronic mailing addresses of both the company and the webmaster. Don't you think the internet surfers of the world would think rather dubiously of a company that just doesn't have textual contact information within the pages of its internet site?

These days, people just can't live without a handheld computing machine, a mobile phone, internet access, and all other stuff that is electronic, digital, or both. We even have tools and techniques to make these gizmos accessible and usable to disabled persons. I heard a mobile phone talk, and it speaks much clearer than those rappers in New York! But sometimes, the developers and designers of the pages on most internet sites miss out on making these internet sites accessible and usable. Probably, the first thing blind people notice are form elements that aren't accessible.
Sunday, April 29. 2007
Form elements are those text input boxes on the pages of the internet sites on the world wide web. These boxes are necessary for the web publisher to gather information from its internet site's viewers. But how could a blind person input information when the actual form elements on the pages of the internet sites they navigate to don't have any readable labels whatsoever! These jokers who call themselves web designers and developers usually use images to label the form fields, or they even use tables for the job!
Saturday, April 28. 2007
Form elements in tables aren't properly read out by screen readers. These programs tend to read out how the textual information on the pages of internet sites was coded. Thus, it would read the labels first before the input boxes. One form element on the pages of your site is fine. But if you had a shitload of form elements on it, you'd be spending more of your time wading through the tons of hatemails! For instance, if you had twenty-something form elements on a page of your internet site in tabular form, a functional screen reader would read the twenty-something labels first before the input boxes.

Again, I'm gonna give you a primer on proper web design techniques and tactics: don't mind the "new" web design application from the Microsoft team! The new Microsoft Front Page 2003, or so the Microsoft people call it, has virtually no difference whatsoever from the prior releases of this so-called web design application. I wonder what in hell do those bastards back at the Microsoft office think about the rapid developments on digital information technology. Why? 'Cause I don't see no damn developments on their programs, more so, at any rate, rapid advances whatsoever!
Thursday, April 26. 2007
These jokers think that just by adding a little functionality on the coding system of the Microsoft Front Page 2003 release, they could call it a new and improved program. What these dweebs don't know is that you're better off using Notepad than this shit! You see, carefully learning the craft of web coding would be a better option for you to take than using this crap on your web design ventures. I mean, wouldn't visually appealing, accessible, fully interactive, and downright usable pages on your internet sites be a more worthwhile reward over just fast and totally easy web design (with the crapload of shitty features and functions) this so-called web design application has?
Wednesday, April 25. 2007
The Microsoft team has stated that with the release of the Microsoft Front Page 2003, tags and codes that don't have any use whatsoever have been totally wiped off from its slate of web design functions and features. Yeah, right. Keep on fooling the people, you bunch of dumbasses! Here's a tip, if ever you have vision problems or something: I can still fuckin' see unnecessary tags, codes, and shit! Don't you think smoking the fat-asses of these chumps would generally give the new batch of Microsoft programmers the idea of what the people actually need in a damn web design application?
Tuesday, April 24. 2007
As a web developer and designer, I'm sure you've noticed how much the pages of the sites on the world wide web are using graphical presentations and visual design layouts. This is because the demand for more visually entertaining internet sites are increasing due to those high-end video cards, fast internet connections, LCD monitors, and the people's need for more colors and interactivity. This is why those Macromedia applications are pushing every developer of photo and video editing programs out of business. Yes, these damn shitbags think they could virtually dominate the field of visual entertainment development! But unfortunately for these suckers, what they don't know is that their damn apps cost so much they're pushing everybody else to look for other cost-effective editing programs. Yet, there are some of those programmers who think they could bunch up a shitload of functions and features in a single package and still maintain high-performance out of their damn creations.
Monday, April 23. 2007
The MWSnap screen-capturing program is just what I was referring to. Now, this program has all the functions and features a damn good web developer and designer would want from a screen-capturing application, such as the customizability in choosing the area in your desktop you want to capture; the features also includes a bundled color-picker, rulers, dummy cursors, highly programmable hotkeys, and a set of editing functions that can be found on most basic photo and video editing applications. But upon trying it out, I'm sure you'd be noticing how much faster you're web designing and developing ventures would be without this sorry-excuse for a high-performance screen capturing application! You see, I think there's something wrong with either the programming functions of this piece of crap, or the damn developers of this shitty editor just don't know how much the combination of performance and a shitload of functions could literally affect each other. I tried capturing a still video frame from the media player I am using on my machine, and I ended up waiting for a few hours just for the basic editing functions of this damn crap of a program to load! It's free, but I think you won't be having more free time with this one!
Sunday, April 22. 2007
I just switched to the Firefox browser, and noticed some huge advantages it had over the damn IE internet site browser. First, of course, were its security features and functions. I find this an integral feature of any internet site browser. This is because with faster internet connections, internet surfers of the world are being targeted more and more by those spyware companies and hackers.
Saturday, April 21. 2007
But, as a web developer, I just don't know why those asswipes back at the Mozilla office integrated an application called Web Development Toolbar that even an expert web designer couldn't figure out how to functionally use! Yes, I find it hard to use, and I think so would you! Try it out, and we'll just see how much time and money you'd be wasting just figuring out the main features of this shit! You're better off with what you have, you know.
Friday, April 20. 2007
I think they just bunched up a crapload of functions without thinking of how web designers and developers could figure out how to functionally use such features. The Firefox Web Development Toolbar has a goddamn POST to GET converter that even a highly skilled programmer wouldn't know how to functionally use! Plus, it has this cookie information feature which I think shouldn't be as complicated as to what this shit has! Now, how in hell would you want web designers and developers to even functionally use such features if they're too damn complicated for them!
Monday, April 16. 2007
I just don't know why a lot of people prefer good visual techniques applied on the pages of the internet sites they view on their internet surfing ventures over textual content. Isn't the world wide web supposed to be a pool of information we could all benefit from? If I wanted a good visual treat, I'd end up playing a good 3D Xbox game instead of wasting my time browsing through cyberspace!! This is because the accessibility of those damn internet sites have been a long standing issue, and still, these dimwits think visually appealing sites count more than textual information on the pages of those internet sites.
